Willie Edward Townsend

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Edward Townsend will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in the chapel of the mortuary. There will be a viewing in the chapel one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Townsend passed away on February 3, 2025. 

Over the years, Mr. Townsend had endeavors as a businessman, He opened a small grocery store, built houses, owned a lawncare and landscaping service for many years, and he had a farm in Hastings, Florida. Mr. Townsend moved to the Northside of Jacksonville in the mid 1980's. While working as a Security Officer, he met Deborah Atwaters, and in 1989, she became his wife. Mr. Townsend always kept busy until his health began to decline and he was no longer able to work.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Mrs. Deborah Atwaters Townsend; son born to their union, Kevin Townsend; surviving children also includes: daughters: Betty Townsend Lee and  Patsy Townsend, sons: Glendell Townsend, Calvin Townsend, Terry Townsend, Sr., Antwon Townsend, and Joseph Jackson; a number of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other loving relatives and friends.
