Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Bell Wolfe-Curtis will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 26, 2025, in the chapel of the mortuary. There will be a viewing at 10:00 AM, in the chapel, one hour prior to the funeral. Mrs. Curtis passed away on December 21, 2025. The interment will take place in Edgewood Cemetery following the funeral ceremony.
Born on August 19, 1936, in Thomasville, Georgia to the union of Mr. Cornell W. Wolfe and Mrs. Ella Mae Henley-Wolfe, the family move to Jacksonville, Florida at an early age. Mrs. Curtis attended the local schools in Duval County. She graduated Old Station High School, in the class of 1954. Mrs. Curtis attended nursing school at the Brewster Hospital School for nurses. She worked as a nurse for a number of years. She also attended Edward Waters College and she earned a bachelor's degree in social studies. Mrs. Curtis also worked at the State Hospital, in Macclenny, Florida for a number of years, and she was a former member of King Solomon United Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. W.C. Barker, Jr. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and she was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star (OES).
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curtis is predeceased by her son, Patrick Rogers; her sisters, Antoinette Wolfe, Rosa Francina Wolfe-Lambrick, and Marion Wolfe-Woods. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Forrest (Felecia) Cutler, Harry (Debra) Brown, Kenneth Rolle, Rene Powell, Jeffery Powell, Michael Allen, Joe Brown, Pastor Letha Bell Norman, Rev. Dr. Gregory Davis (Gloria) and other nieces, nephews, cousins, god-son, Pastor Reginald Hall, loving neighbors, and dear friends
