Katie Ann Gardner Scott

A Memorial Service Honoring the life of Mrs. Katie Ann Gardner Scott will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 30, 2023 in the chapel of the mortuary. Mrs. Scott passed away October 24, 2023. She is predeceased by her husband, Willie Lee Scott. She is survived by her loving and devoted family: mother, Mrs. Sarah Gardner; brother, Rolfe (Sandra) Gardner; sisters: Barbara Gardner, Sharron (Louis) Goldson, Theodora Scott, and Vonna (Vince) Robinson; devoted step-children: Ray (Sandy) Scott and Tim (Tonya) Scott; a number of other loving relatives and friends, among them, Carrie Russel. Family and friends will assemble at the mortuary. 

Katie Ann Gardner was born on September 29, 1950 to the proud parents of Bob, Jr. and Sarah Gardner, in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. She lived at 5838 Hollyhock Road, and she attended the local schools in Jacksonville, including Moncrief Elementary (now Sinclair Evans Academy), Northwestern Junior-Senior High School (now Northwestern Elementary), and Williams M. Raines High School. She is the fourth of ten children born to union. While attending Williams Raines High School, Katie was a member of the marching band, playing the clarinet.

Katie worked a secretary at HRS for a number of years after graduation from high school. She later married Willie Lee Scott and her devoted step children, Ray and Tim Scott later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where they lived for a number of years. Katie also worked as a secretary for a major banking corporation. She later moved back to Jacksonville to assist her family with the care of their aging mother. Katie will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
