Fitzgerald Thaxton, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Fitzgerald Thaxton, Jr. will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025 in the chapel of the mortuary. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Mr. Thaxton, affectionately known to family and friends as "Butterman", passed away on February 4, 2025.

A life long resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Butterman was born on August 6, 1961. He was the beloved son of Fitzgerald Thaxton, Sr and Geraldine Swan Thaxton. Butterman  attended Williams Raines High School. Over the course of his life, he did a wide variety of jobs. At his core, he was a social butter fly always surrounding  himself with loved ones and laughter. Butterman was a kind and gentle spirit who loved children.

Butterman is predeceased  by his wife, Margaret Eady Thaxton; and his father, Fitzgerald Thaxton, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Geraldine Swan Thaxton; brothers: Aaron Thaxton and Gerald (Brenda) Thaxton; sisters: Sharon Thaxton, Christine (Kirk) Medearis,  Regina Thaxton and Pamela Barney; a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving relatives and friends, who all loved him dearly.
