A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Evetta Williams Townsend will be at at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Church of God Keith Dominion, 6279 Restlawn Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32208. There will be a viewing at the mortuary on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5-7PM. Mrs. Townsend transitioned on December 3, 2025. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.
Born on September 2, 1951, in Wagner, South Carolina , Mrs. Townsend was a woman whose life was marked by kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and a joyful spirit. Throughout her life, her faith never wavered, even through significant life changes and health challenges. Mrs. Townsend was a proud 1969 graduate of Matthew W. Gilbert High School. She worked faithfully for more than 20 years as a payroll clerk at Sears and Roebuck, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and warm demeanor. Also, she was a member of Grace Temple Church under the leadership of Bishop Steven M. Arnold, in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was loved and respected as a Church Mother.
Predeceased by her parents, James Henry Williams and Viola Mae Salley Williams; her half-brother, Bishop Larry Boston; and her beloved granddaughter, Sidney Rae Owens, Mrs. Townsend is survived by her loving and devoted daughters: Raevondolyn Townsend Rice (Kenneth) and Erika Townsend Kilpatrick; grandsons: Kenney Rice, Jr, (Anya), Shavoc Kilpatrick and Kameron Rice; great-grandson, Sai' Yor Noelle Kilpatrick; great-granddaughter, Kensley Rochelle Cross-Rice; and nephew, Tyrone Townsend, Jr.; a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
