Ella Singleton Hutchinson

Homegoing Services for Mrs. Ella S. Hutchinson will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2023, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 6910 New Kings Road, Jacksonville, FL 32219. Mrs. Hutchinson transitioned July 5, 2023. There will be a viewing at the church at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Hutchinson was born on August 10,1931 to the union of David and Estella Nelson Singleton, in the Monteocha Community of Gainesville, Florida. She was one of 13 children born and she was preceded in death by nine of her siblings. After graduating Alachua County Training School, she and her cousin/friend, Irene Gainey, moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Hutchinson worked at various jobs including Furchgott's Department Store and Riverside Hospital Pharmacy, where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Continuing in retirement to serve at Owens Pharmacy. Ella loved and served our Lord Jesus Christ at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She was a member of Usher Board #2. She never missed a meeting with the Young at Heart Ministry, and she was a faithful  member of her Sunday School. 

Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ollie Hutchinson, Jr.; children: L. Belinda H. Campbell (James), E. Treveene H.  Cooper and Reginald Hutchinson; grandchildren: Christopher (Tameka), Shawn (Nedra) and James (Freshonda); great grandchildren: Christopher ("CJ"), My'Kaylah, Christian, and Ayo; siblings: Glade Mcallister, Deacon James "Jackie" Singleton (Rosa Lee) and Janie S. Johnson; nieces and nephews, Cynthia ( Rev. Jeremiah, Jr) Robinson; brother and sister -in-laws, Rev. Geraldine Singleton, Earline Hart, Charles Lovett and John (Daisy) Lovett ; a number of other loving relatives and friends, among them, special friends, Adel Levenberry and Julia Sykes, her 23rd Street family and extended families.

Interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, Lane number 2.
