Mrs. Earlene Fredrick Lawrence, of Jacksonville, Florida peacefully transitioned, on May 17, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, may 25, 2023, in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 2503 N. Myrtle Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, Rev. Darrell Gilyard, Pastor. Mrs. Lawrence was an active servant to the congregation through multiple ministries for more than 60 years. The interment will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery, immediately following the service.
There will be a viewing from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the mortuary. Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Beatrice Fredrick; her beloved husband, Theodore Lawrence, Jr.; sisters, Johnnie Mae Dove, Josephine Thomas and Jody Bell Fredrick. She was affectionally known as "Gannie" to those who loved her.
Mrs. Lawrence leaves to cherish her memories 2 devoted sons, Joe Carrol (loving daughter-in- law, Judy), Ronald Etheridge, Jr.; 2 daughters, Janis Matthew and Cynthia Snow; an adoring niece, Imani Dove; 4 grandchildren, Timicka Carrol Anderson (Byron), Joe Carrol, Jr., (Yolanda), Jarrod Carrol and Noel Etheridge; 3 great-grandchildren, Brisco Anderson, Bryce Anderson and Bauer Anderson; three generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins; longstanding neighbors and fellow Mt. Ararat congregants. Family and friends will assemble at the church.
