Donnie Carnell Givens

Funeral Services for Mr. Donnie Givens will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, 480 S. 8th Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063 . There will be a viewing on Friday at the church from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Interment will be held in Quitman Cemetery, in Sanderson.  Mr. Givens passed away on September 4, 2024.

Donnie  was born on September 4, 1956, in Sanderson, Florida to the union of Arlee and L.D. Givens. He graduated from Baker County High School, in the Class of 1974. Donnie was once employed at Areo, in Lake City, Florida and  at Northeast Florida State Hospital, in Macclenny, Florida prior to moving to Boston, Massachusetts, where he worked as a computer operator. Donnie later moved to Los Angeles, California for several years, then he moved back to Sanderson, Florida. Donnie had many friends. He would go above and beyond being a giver of what he had to many people. Donnie had a big heart of loving others. Most of all, he repented of all of his sins and accepted Christ in his life.

In addition to his parents, Donnie is predeceased by his brothers, Roy Chester Givens, Sr., Robert Lee Givens and Arlee Floyd, and sister, Sandra Watson. He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Tarry (Jenifer) Givens; 3 granddaughters: Khloe, Karri and Kai-lan Givens, 3 sisters: Peggy (Bill) Lee, Angie (Jerry) Clayter, and Anita (Phillip) Jefferson; 9 brothers: Arthur Lee Givens, Purcell (Monique) Givens, Randy (Jeanette) Givens, Joey Givens, Sr., Nelson (Evette) Givens, Marty Givens, Vic (Marie) Givens, Hardy (Tessie) Givens and Preston (Elizabeth) Givens; aunt, Carlena Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
