Dennis McDougal passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2023 at 11:00am. Dennis R. McDougal, known to his loved ones as Rosebud, peacefully passed away on September 10, 2023, in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 67. Born on August 21, 1956, to Henry and Leslie McDougal, Dennis was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jordan C. McDougal, his brother Tyrone McDougal, and his sister Gloria McDougal.

Dennis is survived by his children, Jason, Kamia, Gladys, and Jonelle McDougal, who will forever cherish his memory. His grandson, Corrion White, was the light of his life, and their bond was unbreakable. Dennis is also survived by his siblings Tony McDougal, Evelyn McDougal, Lyvego Jackson, and Beverly McDougal, as well as numerous close family members and friends, all of whom will deeply miss him.

At a young age, Dennis showed great promise and determination. He graduated from William M. Raines High School, Class of '75, with a thirst for knowledge and a drive to succeed. Throughout his life, he held various positions with the City of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Electric Authority, always dedicated to providing for his family.

Beyond his career, Dennis had a range of hobbies and interests that showcased his innate talents. He was known for his exceptional grill skills, leaving everyone yearning for his delicious barbecued ribs and chicken. His culinary prowess extended beyond the grill, as he was also an excellent cook. Furthermore, Dennis had a knack for mechanics and was a skilled handyman. He could fix anything, from appliances to air conditioning units, and even built the second story of his home with his own hands.

Dennis's contributions to his community and society were immeasurable. His skills as a mechanic and handyman were often called upon by friends and neighbors in need. With his ever-present willingness to lend a helping hand, he brightened the lives of those around him, making a lasting impact.

What truly made Dennis special, however, was his versatility and can-do attitude. A true "Jack of all Trades," he approached every challenge with determination and fearlessness. No obstacle was too great for him to overcome, and he faced adversity head-on. His dedication to his family, friends, and community was unmatched, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A service to celebrate Dennis's life will be held on the 16th of September at 11:00 AM at Harry Brown Funeral Directors, located at 2719 Edgewood Ave. in Jacksonville, FL. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and acquaintances to honor his memory, share stories, and find solace in the love and support they provide one another.

To Dennis, life was about connections and relationships. His infectious smile, warm presence, and witty sense of humor brightened every room he entered. He had a genuine love for people, and his memory will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
