Born on July 9, 1960, and joined with our Father in Heaven on May 25, 2024 at the age of 63, in Jacksonville, Florida, Deborah Diane Gates lived a beautiful life. Deborah (known to her family and close friends as Plum) was a beloved mother, sister, and bestfriend. Her heart remained full of light till the very end and thereafter. She enjoyed everything from collecting and watching classic films, to scrolling on social media to enjoy a laugh at the latest cat videos. She was known for her witty sense of humor, love of great food, and giving spirit. Most of all, Deborah loved living life regardless of any circumstances, believing in others far more than they believed in themselves, she exemplified a holy heart throughout her personal and work life.
Deborah worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years in Florida, and dedicated her daily life to helping others while spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We truly believe that she left this world and became an angel of God, and her bright spirit will be truly missed forever. She is now joined with her first child, Joseph, in the arms of our Lord.
Deborah leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, for whom there was no end to her love: Jozette, Danielle, Adney, and Regina; her grandchildren: Terzettea, Lazettea, Jonathan, Jacob, David, Chloe, Ruby, Romeo, Cindy, and Chase.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by: mother, Reatha; father, Ralph; siblings: Donna (Charles), Dayatra (Kenneth), D’Shawn; nieces: Lauren, Morgan, Kennedy; Nephew, Kenneth. Deborah will be truly missed as she transcends on the best journey yet, and we will always wish for her to be here with us.
Thank you to everyone that has ever contributed to the beautiful smile she always had, and we extend our deep gratitude for all expressions of kindness shown during this time. In Deborah's words, remember “life is already good.”
