Funeral services for Deacon Eddie Blackshear will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Philippian Community Church, 7578 New Kings Road, Jacksonville, FL 32219, Bishop Virgil C. Jones, Sr. and Dr. Virgil C. Jones, Jr., Pastors. Deacon Blackshear transitioned September 21, 2022. He was a devoted employee of the Florida Times-Union Newspaper, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Affectionately known to many as "Bill", he is survived by his loving and devoted family: son, Victor (Cheryl) Blackshear; daughter, Kimberly Blackshear; six grandchildren, Christopher and Alyssa Blackshear, PrincessSayra, PrincessZia, PrincessNyla, and PrincessKiara Bertran; four sisters: Angenell (William) Stokes, Barbara (Robert) Lee, Hennie Terry-Styles, and Margaret (Charles) Bush; brother, Herbert (Lisa) Blackshear; a number of other loving relatives and friends. There will be a viewing Saturday at the church at 10:00AM. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205.
